On Saturday, May 29, at 9:00am, the Martinsville Mustangs will be running tryouts for the Post 42 American Legion Baseball team. As a part of the Mustangs organization, American Legion players, age 14-19, learn the tools to become the future leaders of our state while also building their baseball acumen. This weekend’s tryouts will be at Hooker Field.

American Legion Baseball describes their mission as one to promote “the importance of sportsmanship, good health and active citizenship.” The number one goal for the Post 42s is to produce community leaders and productive baseball players to the local community. Through the long and successful history of the Mustangs, players have been taught the tenets of baseball and life, becoming successful adults in the community.
