MARTINSVILLE, Va – Celebrating its 20th anniversary season in the Coastal Plain League in 2024, the Martinsville Mustangs will begin their newest campaign at historic Hooker Field on Monday, May 27 against the High Point-Thomasville HiToms. The Mustangs will open the regular season on the road a few days prior, Thursday, May 23 at the Peninsula Pilots.

Per a CPL release, the league will again feature a two division look, but with the addition of the expansion Greenville (N.C.) club, the divisions will be slightly unbalanced. The East will include Greenville, Holly Springs, Morehead City, Peninsula, Tri-City, Wilmington and Wilson; while the West will be made up of Asheboro, Boone, Florence, Forest City, High Point-Thomasville, Lexington County, Macon and Martinsville.

Highlights of the Mustangs’ 2024 slate include an Independence Day celebration on Friday, July 5 – featuring a postgame fireworks extravaganza. Martinsville will host a total of 24 home games throughout the summer at the newly renovated Hooker Field, including three Sunday contests.  A full promotional schedule will be available at a later date. The Mustangs will also travel to Macon, Georgia for the first time since 2019 on Saturday, June 15 for a matchup with the Macon Bacon.
